Gordon (Gordie) Willis, shooting "The Godfather"
Pier Paolo Pasolini
Bernardo (Berno) Bertolucci, directing Liv Tyler, during the making of "Stealing Beauty"
Conrad L. (Connie) Hall, at the L.A. special screening of "Road to Perdition"
I learned from these four filmmakers
(my words, not theirs)
Willis: Never be afraid to try what has never been tried before, and always
push to keep the integrity of the cinematography intact.
Pasolini: Film is an even more powerful means of swaying people's
ideas and prejudices, than even wars.
Berno Bertolucci: There are no big or little films, only films you love or films you don't.
Connie Hall: Keep it simple, and everything else will just fall into place.
that's as good as it gets...
